Where you can enjoy a glass at Friedrich

At Friedrich, there isn’t just one place where you can drink wine. There are many. A window seat in the restaurant, when the Merlot is poured during dinner and the candlelight dances in the glass. The sun terrace in the afternoon, when the afternoon snack is laid out on the board and a chilled Pinot Blanc washes away the heat of the day. The balcony of your room after a long hike, when your calves are still tingling and Mt Catinaccio/Rosengarten is slowly turning pink. The bar late at night, when the hotel falls silent and you wind down the day with an Amaro or a glass of Merlot Riserva. Each of these places changes the way the wine tastes. And the wine changes the way you experience the place.

Romen winery in Eppan, our wine partner

The wines on your menu come from, among others, the Romen winery in Eppan, one of Friedrich’s partner wineries. The connection between the two businesses goes back many years, and what ages in the cellars in Eppan ends up in your glass. Their Lagrein has the depth of a long autumn day in South Tyrol. Their Pinot Blanc tastes of cool mornings on the mountainside. And when you’re sitting at a wine tasting at Friedrich, you’ll hear the stories behind the labels, find out which vintage is special, and discover how different soils give the wine its unique character. Or you can focus entirely on the aroma and taste. Stay fully present, immersed in the moment.

Bar and coffee: the perfect pairing

The bar at Friedrich is where the hours of the day blend together. An espresso from Caroma in Völs in the morning as you plan your day or deliberately leave things open. A snack in the afternoon, a digestif in the evening after your five-course menu, a herbal tea – or another glass of wine. After all, you’re on holiday; there are no rules.

Friedrich’s favourite

Everyone has their favourite bottles. Our favourite sparkling wine comes from Sektmanufaktur Winkler in Girlan. It has a fine effervescence, is dry, and carries a subtle hint of warm South Tyrolean afternoons. Our favourite red is the Merlot Riserva Luma from Romen: dark and velvety, with a warmth that lingers on your palate like a kind word in your heart. Katja and Christof's Friedrich favourites. Selected for you.
